The Teddy Bear Portrait Afghan pattern is written out in full, in U.S.

To make the child-size afghan, you will need a 5.5 mm (I) crochet hook (or size to reach the gauge stated in the pattern). To make the baby-size afghan, you will need a 4 mm (G) crochet hook (or size to reach the gauge stated in the pattern). The afghan is crocheted with worsted weight baby yarn. You can make this adorable afghan in a baby-size, which measures approximately 38.25 inches by 42.50 inches or as a child-size afghan which measures 43.75 inches by 48.50 inches. You will not have any ends to sew in! Afghan Sizes The project is designed to allow you to create a fringe on the left and right side edges of the blanket. The pattern is worked on the RS (right side) only, and you will finish off the strand of yarn you are working with at the end of every row. This technique is similar to a ldc - long double crochet - but it is worked in the remaining front loop, not around the post of the stitch. The entire pattern uses only single crochet stitches worked in the back loop of a stitch, and double crochet stitches worked in a remaining front loop of a stitch from 2 rows before. This adorable teddy bear blanket is much easier to crochet than you think and with Carol’s helpful step-by-step video tutorial you will be able to master the dropped double crochet technique easily. Great for both boys and girls, you can make this afghan in 2 different sizes simply by changing the hook size you are using to crochet the project. The Teddy Bear Portrait Afghan, #517 will make the perfect gift for babies, toddlers and children.
